What is your favorite memory/your favorite part about being a WSE Stallion? One of my favorite memories that I have as a teacher has to be when I decided to teach narrative writing by giving my students a common story to write about. I remember asking our principal at the time, Dr. Fridge, to come by my room at a certain time during the day, and laid out my plan to her. Later in the afternoon, a few minutes before the principal's "surprise" visit, I stopped the class and told them that I was tired of teaching for the day, so we just needed to party. We went all out. I turned on a mini-disco ball, flipped off the light, put on some music, and we started dancing in the middle of the room. Right on time, Dr. Fridge walked in with a totally shocked expression on her face and pulled me out of class to "have a word". I stepped out and the kids were totally silent trying to hear what she was telling me; they were sure that I was in big trouble! When I came back into the room and revealed it was all a setup, the kids thought it was hilarious, and we had a great topic to write about.
