As we have said many times, what our families will be allowed to do, and be a part of inside the school, is still unclear.  Regardless of where we end up though, we will be making the most of the year and hoping to make the biggest impact we can.  And for that, we'll need all of you (and others).

We do have some volunteer positions we already know we will need, so below is a list to get each of you thinking of where you can lend your hand/hearts. We remind everyone here that there is no need to be intimidated by any of these roles – we will all be working together and nobody will be stuck alone. As a team we'll get a lot cooked-up, so we will need some chefs in the kitchen to help.  Reach out to us with interest right away!

Sponsorship Chair

We need someone who will reach out to local businesses to secure monetary donations for our school. We have several sponsors that donate annually and the PTO will provide a list of places to reach out to (you can always reach out to more/new places as well!). The bulk of this job is simply emailing with local companies, so this is the perfect job to complete whenever you have spare moments. We are looking for someone to start this position as soon as possible so we can have our sponsors lined-up at the beginning of the year.

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Chair

This person is responsible for recognizing our teachers and staff at various points throughout the year (there are many national appreciation days for educators!). Teacher Appreciation Week occurs at the beginning of May, and this is the busiest time for this chair. In past years, we have had food catered and had parents provide certain items while we served the food.

Fundraising Team

We are looking for a team of individuals to help plan and execute the two major fundraisers for our school.  In the past, we have had fun runs, carnivals, raffles, & cash drives, but we are looking to be disruptive this year and change things up. We need to raise money for our PTO to continue to support the needs of the school, so having a strong team that works together on this is imperative!

Silent Auction Group Members

We are looking for lots of people for this one. Responsibility is to reach out to companies (via email, snail mail, and/or in person) to secure items for our annual silent auction. Our Silent Auction Chair has a phenomenal list to work from, so it's as simple as copying/pasting an email that has already been created.  As the auction gets closer, we will need people to help assemble baskets and monitor the table for checkout and item pick-up. This is a major fundraiser for our school, and we need a large team of people to make it a success!

Yearbook Chair and Volunteers

The Yearbook team is responsible for pulling together the content for our annual yearbooks, organizing the pages and working with the vendor. If we can have a team available to help with this process it will make everything much smoother for everyone.

Fifth Grade Activities Volunteers

The fifth grade activities team is responsible for two major events: Colonial Day in the fall, and the end of the year awards and celebrations for the students. 1-2 volunteers are needed in each classroom on Colonial Day. A committee of 5-10 volunteers will be needed to plan, organize, and execute the events at the end of the year working in support of our Fifth Grade Activities Chair.
